About LLCForming
We publish plain-English LLC guides with one unusual rule: every state fee on this site is checked against the state's own official source, and the check is dated. Here is why we built it this way, and how the site makes money.
Why this site exists
Start an LLC and you will meet two kinds of information. The first kind is sales copy from companies that file paperwork for a living. The second kind is guide content that copies other guide content, and quietly goes stale. While researching this site we found top-ranking guides quoting a Texas filing fee that does not exist, and a franchise tax threshold that changed years ago. The founders reading those pages make real decisions with those numbers.
LLCForming is the third kind: a guide site that treats accuracy as the product. Every filing fee, report fee, and deadline we publish comes from the official state source, and the page shows when we last checked it. When a figure changes, we update the page and write the change down in a public corrections log. When we cannot verify a number from an official source, we say so on the page instead of printing a guess.
What we publish
- State guides that separate year-one costs from every-year costs, because the second number is the one that surprises owners.
- Explainers written for first-time founders, in plain English, with the limits of each rule stated up front.
- A cost calculator that totals your state filing fee, report fees, and state LLC taxes using only verified state data.
- Trackers for moving targets like FinCEN's beneficial ownership rules, updated as the facts change.
- Provider comparisons that lead with renewal prices, because the first-year teaser is not what you actually pay.
How we make money
When you click a link to a formation company or registered agent provider on this site and buy a service, the provider may pay us a commission. That is the site's only business model. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes a state fee, a vendor price, or a ranking input on this site. State fees come from state sources, not from vendors. The full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, an accounting firm, or a formation service. We do not file your paperwork, and nothing on this site is legal or tax advice for your situation. We publish general information, checked carefully, so you can walk into those conversations, or into the filing itself, knowing the real numbers.
Corrections are a feature
If you spot a fee or a deadline that does not match your state's official site, tell us at contact@llcforming.com. Corrections from readers are the fastest way this site gets better, and every accepted correction is logged publicly.
